What's the best option, performance/price wise, HEL or Goodridge braided hoses? The front pads need changing on my '99 600, so I thought, whilst that's being done I'd upgrade the hoses at the same time, I'm thinking race style too.
One of the better mods you can do to your bike especially as the rubber hoses are prob well past their best by now. Goodridge,Hel or Venhill all good-think you can claim a discount as a member of this forum with one of these suppliers?-look at old threads for details
Here's the info you need...
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines...
You will probably go with 'Hel' because of the discount (understandable) but don't overlook 'Venhill'. I have just fitted their brake lines to my boxeye and Gen 1 Fazers and the quality is superb. The design makes them so much easier to fit than any other line I have bought in the past. The banjo comes separate and can be fixed to the caliper end and master cylinder ends first. You can then simply route the brake line and screw either end into its respective banjo. Simples
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???
I've had HEL lines on both my Boxeye (before the discount) and was very happy with them
At the end of the day, I don't think there is any discernible difference between the brands other than their names imo. Each makes high quality braided hoses fit for purpose - so with the HEL discount, it just makes sense to go this route
I've just ordered the 2 line kit off HEL for now, as I need to get pads as well, bit short on finances. I can confirm that the 25% is still available; thanks for all the input fellas, much appreciated, as I'm a newbie to the wonderful world of bikes, especially my (previous owners) neglected 600.
Out of interest, how much was the 2 line kit with discount? I'm looking at ordering soon.
£239 without the discount for my ABS model FZ1 :eek
£182 if they give me the 25% discount.
Im still reeling from the cost!
Foccing hell, am I glad I've got an old un.
