Hi all, cleaning out my rear brake and came across these, first time cleaning it but I had a thou caliper on my 6 and don't recall seeing them. Anyone know what they are and their purpose? Cheers

Not like anything I've seen in a Thou rear caliper.
My guess is someone previously bodged the anti-rattle clip.

Had a look on the parts catalog earlier, came up as a Retainer, Caliper #5LV-25849-00. Strange. Looks like it could possibly be to support the wee plate on the bottom somehow?

(23-02-14, 10:01 AM)Fizzy Pies link Wrote: have them on my thou caliper Me too. They are a standard Yamaha Part as stated and should be present on all standard Gen 1 rear callipers. They act as some sort of retainer.
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???

You're right, of course - my bad. Never noticed them on mine but went and checked this morning. The clip to the sides of the caliper and I guess I've never had reason to take them off mine when cleaning it.
