I'm sorry, but happy to say I've traded my fz6 for an 08 Hayabusa. It's a very different bike but suits my needs a bit more as I often ride 2 up and need the torque.
Yes it is ballistic but in all honesty I've yet to give it the beans in the early gears let alone the top.
I'm hoping to get out tomorrow weather permitting.
I'll keep popping by
Cheers

It's only to much if you twist that throttle to far, otherwise it's a real easy bike to ride. It has 3 power modes so if you are 2 up you can wind it back to 116 bhp and a slow throttle response. Possibly a gimmick but it may help.
I'm still fighting with myself as i want something a bit more desirable, something like this or a fireblade.....even if it is rarely used, so ething with that oomph factor.
I only use my little fazer 6 months of the year, it's a great little bike.
I'm tempted to pick up a fireblade for circa 2k & clear out a space for it but it is surely stupid to have 2 bikes for only 6 months of the year.
Ohhh i hate these posts :'(
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

Have you seen thw fireblade in this months RIDE mag?

I tested a few, ZZR1400, BMW K1200s, VFR1200 and to be honest most well ridden FZ's would stay in touch unless you have a straight then these bigger bikes just take off.
The ZZR1400 is great but pre 2012 I hate the front end. The Hayabusa is just so smooth and fast that it's hard to say no and I love the front end look.
If I had the money I swear the Fazer would still be in the garage as well as it was a hoot red lining it at 14k
Worthy of note though is that Hasting's Direct flatly refused to insure it! I think the word Hayabusa is a bit like Cosworth was in the late 80s. I'm over 40 (0 years no claims on my bike but 9 years + on my car and I'm an advanced blue light driver) and it cost me £300 year to insure.

That Busa is a lovely looking bike for sure but like an R1 a bit too extreme for me - still admired it for years for what it is.
Given the choice agree with the above, would love a Storm. And as said before, a well ridden FZ600 will keep up with 90+% of bikes on the road up to the ton.
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

I do agree but it will handle and when you open the taps it's as fun packed as you can get. The first time I rode it I just laughed out loud. It's all perspective.
Sweet looking Busa you've bought there 8) I used to really dislike the looks of these when they came out but they have grown on me over the years and yours is one of the nicest colours in my humble opinion.
Take it easy and I'm sure it will be just as much fun as a Fazer when you master it
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???
I'm sure most bike designs have their merits (there are bound to be exceptions) and its up to the individual as to whether these are an important asset to them personally or not. The Fazer is a great all rounder, but what if you don't want an all rounder? It may be better in the twisties, but what if you want more raw power on the straights?
If I ever have my way, I'll end up with several bikes and cars and a garage at least twice the size of the house. But each will be unique and cater to a different style - its not about which is best and choosing a winner, not in my opinion. It's about finding those that appeal to how you want to ride or how you want to drive and more importantly, how they make you feel when they do.
Note: I may have just watched a "feel good" movie and this totally sounds like one of those epic, meaningful speeches in my head where everyone gets pumped up and hyper. So if you don't rally up and shout exclamations of how awesome and right I am, it may crush my perception :lol

Ive just come from a K1300R and there is NO WAY my FZ1s would beat it in any department, except maybe handling...
That was the reason I got rid of it, the long wheelbase made it handle like a pig but man was it fast :eek

My brother has a Storm, such a beaut of a bike. I'm thinking about chopping in the Fazer already (only had it 6 months) looking for something a little more modern. I keep getting drawn to the Dark Side. (Honda CBF1000)
