First ride of the year
#1
I had to go to work today so looked outside and the rain had stopped. Bike car bike car BIKE.  Flipping awesome,  the rain had stopped but the gutters were flowing heavy.  Its nearly 20 miles and mostly motorway but it was still fantastic.  Feeling the power of an Ivanised 1000 cc engine grunting from 50 to double that in a few seconds is amazing.  And at 5am the roads were practically empty. I just hope the run home is as much fun. Happy New year fellow foccers and all the best for 2014

I'd forgotten it was New Year and finished work at about quarter to midnight last night, I'd intended to leave well before that to avoid drunken revellers  falling out of the pubs in London. In the event, the wind and drizzle kept people indoors, the roads had almost no traffic and as I reached Richmond the skies erupted with fireworks.
They continued all the way down the A316 and even on the M3 all the way to junction 4A it was a rare moment when there were no pyrotechnics visible.
Once I'd got home it quietened down... until 1am when some idiot down in the housing estate (clocks presumably still set to BST) set off some thunderflashes.  :2guns

I was awoken by some massive bangs. Not sure what time though.  My dog wasn't happy either. My ear plugs were on overtime.
