How about a xjr 400, or cb1, nice little buzzy fours, should be cheap to insure, you can pic them up for under a grand.
the night i was born, lord the moon stood a fire red., my poor mother her crying,
she said the gypsy was right, and she fell right dead

The 33bhp restrictor (which effectively knocks me off FZ400s too) means my insurance triples - as fewer companies will insure me. And sadly the CB1 and XJR are both > 33bhp. I'm considering a VT250 though.

Why not just buy another 600 and put the restrictors from the crashed 600 into it. It would take about and hour?

Just flapping about on this stagnant little pond on the outer rim of the internet.....yup.... :-))

GPZ500 would be a safe bet. Pick them up for next to nowt.
07-11-13, 03:33 PM
Or a GS500, they're simple as, and nothing to go wrong. I had one a few years ago, they're immense fun!
07-11-13, 05:36 PM
The GPZ and the GS are both good suggestions, but there is a huge problem.
The 33bhp restrictor. Not many insurers want to touch a restricted rider. When I was looking at a Fazer 400, insurance for me cost £500. Add a restrictor, and the price rocketed to £1,500. The VT250 may be a stopgap - assuming I get a job, that is...
