Well it seems like another one of us is selling their little Fazer! My work donkey is more than likely going to it's new home next week, back into the loving arms of my son who's decided to get back into biking after a 12 month break.
I'm keeping the white FZ1, as that's my baby, but as I commute 40 miles per day, I need another bike. I'm thinking of going a bit Jap Retro just for a change, and going for one of these.

Has anyone out there had one? Or currently owns one? Or wants to sell me one (for about £1400)
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!
Could pick up a nice VFR750 for that kind of money, reliability and a bit of weather protection.
Ooo I like them
Women have chocolate men have bikes.....
including ones who like chocolate....

Yeah, I could pick up quite a few fully faired bikes for that money, but I'm after a retro jap muscle type bike for a change. Also looking at a vx800 which almost looks like a retro muscle/cruiser hybrid.

Is that the 750? Mate of mine had the 550 years ago and said it was a gutless nightmare, and the 1100 is a big old bus. Got to admit I kind of like the style of them as well. I'd have the 750 for a work horse
Its better to ask a stupid question than make a stupid mistake.
That's what I'll hopefully be using it for, a workhorse. Looked at the 550, and as you say, it's a bit gutless. The 750 should be enough with a bit of luck.

Thanks Mick. It's a shame the one in Blackpool has a fairing or I'd have that one, it's on my doorstep. :

It's only a small fairing :lol :lol
If your son changes his mind about having yours Stevie, I might be interested. Decided to get a winter hack myself, and would prefer a Fazer 6, but it'd need to be pretty ratty looking, fairly high mileage, to keep the price down. Don't think somehow yours would fit that description anyway!
It's a pity the old Z650s are fetching silly money these days, much more nimble than a Zephyr 750. Still a good bike after all these years.
Hey Nick....you've got it all muddled up geezer.................you would be the 600's winter Hack!!! :evil :evil :evil
The 600 :faz runs over landrovers in its spare time!!! :evil
Chuck Norris thinks the :faz 600 is too extreme!!! :evil
Can you Hack the sheer amazingness of the 600 :faz ??? mokin
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

Give us a shout if you need a lift down to pick it up.
Just had a look at that zr7, looks ok to me, it's just at the other end of the country. (typical that!)
Been to see a tdm 850, and got my eye on a cb750 which are both local. Oh the decisions...........:

1st bike I ever wanted as teenager was a Kwacker Z900, never got round to it. How about the 9 Stevie?
fire never sleeps
Mate of mine has a CB750F2N, bought it about 4 years ago £1300, bikes only done 21000 miles and he could probably get the same if not a little more for it now.
Buy the right one and you'll never lose money.
Steve, I'm off for 2 weeks have nowt to do, live in Bolton so not to far from you, if you decide you want to buy one that's some miles away give us a shout

Although the Z1 was a revelation in it's day, if you ride one now it feels like a slow, heavy old tractor. I had one for a short time, and found I just wasn't interested in riding it much. The 650 on the other hand is still quite enjoyable, handling ok, power delivery ok. There was once a really nice one in one of the classic bike mags, had an RGV s/arm and forks and God knows what else, still basically looked like a Z650, but was apparently the nuts to ride. I've always wanted to do that to one, never had the money. :\
Cheers for the help guys, much appreciated. Hopefully taking a look at that cb750 tomorrow, photos look promising, and with a bit if luck it'll be a gem

Pity. That Kwakkers sure looks purdy.
