ive just bought a textile jacket normaly ride in a leather jacket, when i go above 90 the buffertings
allot worse with the textile jacket, infact theres hardly any with me leather on but with the textile buffertings

Just had a little experiment, took my DB screen off and had a 20 mile blat around the lanes reaching inappropriate speeds where appropriate!

Has to be said it was noticeably better regarding wind noise and head bobble was less evident, although obviously my chest was getting more of a hit. The usual wind roar (with ear plugs rammed in) was replaced by a whoosh/whistle. My helmet is cack though (don't buy a Nolan N90 flip!!) so will be replaced at some stage with another piece of pure guess work which will hopefully be better

Just grabbed a standard screen off fleabay so hopefully my motorway slogs will improve in the near future.

Just to follow up on this, had my first M/Way ride with the standard screen this morning, cold, very windy conditions. The screen was fecking awful!! Could barely get over 70 without being in genuine pain, so coupled with heavy traffic, riding through cloud over the top of the 62 and being blown all over the shop I really have to say I didn't enjoy the experience today. Oh well back to the DB and the dawning of the idea that the Fazer just isn't cut out for M/Ways

It is and it isn't, the riding position isn't ideal as it leaves you to get battered by the wind but you can always hide behind the screen and the engine/gearbox allows you to get out of trouble easily. If I was going to do a lot of miles on a motorway commute I'd save the Fazer for weekends and look into getting a touring style bike specifically for work.

Well I had a try last night on a murky M62, didn't go full chin down as that's too uncomfortable with a heavy backpack on. I got in to a position that I must have looked  like "straining on the toilet". No major difference in noise but was getting less buffeting and the bike picked up a bit of speed so must be more aerodynamic, however with the higher bars (rather than low clip ons) and fairly forward foot pegs it wasn't a position I could keep in for lengthy periods.
