Today was a good day
#1
Does anyone else find that some days riding are better than others ? With that I mean everything just feels right. The corners just seem to flow nicely, the bike feels planted, you seem to feel more confident in your own ability and the bikes capability.  Just fitted new chain and sprockets, rear brake pads, brand new T30 rear tyre, front forks dropped through the yokes by 50mm and dialled in the Ohlins rear shock for a firmer ride. Put these all together and it feels SWEET.  Smile    Yes, today was a good day.

Weyhey dazza on you go. 8)

Yeah some days your just on it, usually after a good sleep & no stress or other distractions.

50mm sounds an awful lot to drop the yokes, mine only got 10mm coz what I could see on the internet suggested much further would risk bottoming out but maybe the mighty thou is different.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

That's it Dazza, that's what I call "in the zone". Being relaxed and feeling fresh is definitely a good starting point, although sometimes a ride will achieve that for you if the mood doesn't seem right when you set out. You've seemingly also hit on a set up on the bike that works for you and the new bits can't harm matters. But days like those are what it's all about, aren't they? That's the epitome of why we ride. Nice one mate  Smile

Yep, event with a stutter the bike handles fantastically due to setting up the suspension. I have my bro to thank for doing this out of the blue and the bike  is now a dream to ride compared to what I had it set up to.

That little bit of know how made me fall in love with the bike all over again (that's why I am working hard to solve the stutter)

Couldn't agree more Dazza, some days everything just feels right and goes right, yet other days things just don't seem to go your way. Enjoy the good days, and learn from the not so good ones and you won't go far wrong  Smile

Like Nick said, feeling refreshed and being relaxed is definitely a good starting point. If you mind and body are in a good place your ride is so much better. The fact that you have done some work on your bike and added some new parts would also have helped towards your mind being in the right place as well as making your bike feel better.
Its all good.
Enjoy  8)

One thing I don't get about that video Fizzy pies is it does rather seems to come on top for him at the end....Not my idea of a good day :bobby    But thanks for your replies fellas.  Have had an electrical problem on the bike which has drove me mad over the last few weeks. Went to start it one morning by shorting it across the solenoid terminals because it wouldn't start on the button and it made a terrible noise and smoke started pouring out from under the seat compartment. It sounded and looked pretty terminal.  Checked all my connectors, replaced the solenoid, starter motor, bypassed the meta alarm system, put a new yuasa battery on it, put a friends R1 main relay on it and finally traced it to  the neutral light switch.....Aaaaarrrhhhhh ! Think it was a combination of things but with electrics it can be a real pain in the arse tracing the fault (for me  anyway). After two weeks not riding my first ride didn't feel that good....But then, it all seemed to come together  8) As for the 50mm noggy, it does seem and look a lot but I went up (or down) depending on how you look at it  a bit at a time and hit the brakes hard each time  to check it didn't  foul anything. Being a shortarse I wanted to be able to put both feet on the ground, tried longer dogbones but didn't like the way my hero blobs were disappearing. :b
