Had a fog city version some years back, the reactive part worked well,
just not very dark. Always thought they were a bit pricey myself.
100 euro for one on a Lazer helmet. PERFECT. In the dark it is almost 100% clear, in strong sunlight it is dark enough to make my eyes feel easy, OK. Never gets too dark, but it works. It takes some 15 seconds from totally dark to totally see through, so I take it slow when enering tunnels on a sunny day.
Beats drop down shades-visors, dark visors etc. For me perfect... except for the price.
Most things done in a hurry need to be done again - patiently.
I use a Fog City amber tint all year round and it works well in everything from bright sunshine to riding in the dark. I used to use Pinlock but I find them too small, I can see the periphery of the insert which bugs me. The Fogcity inserts are much larger.
I presume they aren't a one off purchase but how often do they need replacing.
Women have chocolate men have bikes.....
including ones who like chocolate....
I always use a black visor with clear Fog city insert in all my helmets even when starting at 05;00, never had a problem except occasionally in heavy rain then just crack visor open a bawhair and that sorts it out. My eyes are extremely light sensitive and i seem to be able to see better when its dull.
If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my finger!

These are actually a cracking bit of kit - used them for over 3 years.
The pinlocks don't last or need constant adjustment......the visor anti-fog coating stops working after a few months whilst these last a year plus!
The darkening effect/reaction to sunlight is dependent on the UV properties of your fitted visor (this is how it darkens). If its not treated then it reacts well..treated then not so well but sufficient to deal with winter low sun.
Ultimately if you follow the fitting instructions then it is a 100% no fog solution.
well worth the money fella :thumbup

Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.
I had a (Fogcity?) Hyperoptics years ago. Very good it was too.
