My Fazer so far
#1
HI all, still relatively new to the whole 'biking scene' but just thought i'd share a few pictures of my current project Smile

Bought my Fazer nearly 4 weeks weeks ago, and although it was in an 'okay' condition for a 13 year old bike, I felt like it was missing something and it didn't feel like mine. Here are some photos (apologies for the poor quality) of when I bought it:

The bike came with a newly fitted D.I.D Chain and sprocket, Givi Wing Rack, Givi top box, Oxford intelligent heated grips 9 months Tax and MOT and a little over 40k miles for the princely sum of £750! Got the bike back and one of the lads who works for me (ex motorbike instructor and mechanic) gave it the once over and the thumbs up on the engine. The paint work wasn't in a fantastic condition and it must have been dropped at some point as the headlight fairing was a mismatched colour but nothing that couldn't be sorted. So it seems I got myself a little bit of a bargain!

So then I move on the last week, after talking to a friend, who powder coats for a living, he was saying he wants to get into spraying and wanted some little projects. He's refurbed alloys and sprayed various other bits and bobs. Being as the bike was just my toy I've taken all the fairing off, given them to him and said 'have fun'.

As you can see, i've gone for a Dark Grey Metallic/Anthracite (the actual colour is Honda Graphite Grey) and the finish is awesome. He started on the tank yesterday, so fingers crossed it will all be back together ready for the weekend.

Yet again proof of 'its not what you know, its who you know'
Good choice of colour, you going to get the wheels matched?
40,000 is nothing on a bike these days, my last fzs had 120,000 when I disposed of it.

Plenty of people will be after your wingrack if you don't want it, good results from the for sale section on here.

As I say to everyone- spend Some money preferably on a set of engine protection bars, or at the minimum decent crash bungs, after getting all that work done it'll be a shame to ruin it if you drop it!

Other than that, have fun!

im sure you already have - mind and report the change of colour to DVLA - dont want any funny business if anything goes wrong

Agreed, lovely colour and a cracking finish! Going to look a sweet bike fella.

Reckon your mate needs to do another bike though just to hone his skills so to speak. He probably wouldn't feel right after doing just one bike and then offering his services as chargeable.

As such, I would be glad to offer my bike up for his ongoing re-training. I know it's a risk but a worthy cause in the current economic climate.

Let me know when he wants it  Big Grin

just out of curiosity how much do you guys reckon a tank respray like that would cost normally?

Funny you say that. Some one he knows (who wasn't aware of his particular skillset) has just paid £150 to have the tank done.

Picked up all the parts last night. Yay!!
