New Fazer owner in Nicosia, Cyprus
#1
Hello ladies and gents,

My name is Pantelis and I recently picked up a used 2004 Fazer as per the attached picture.  I am not new to motorcycles having done 40K km's on my other bike, a 2009 CBR600RR but after those 40K I needed something more usable as an everyday bike and for trips with other fellow bikers.  As you can from the picture the bike came complete with a GIVI top case making it ideal for what I need.  I am also not new to Yamaha ownership as my first ever bike (many moons ago) was an 80cc Yamaha YSR80 that I still own.  The CBR is not going anywhere either since we now have a race track in the island as well as some nice mountains roads and it will be used for track days and non relaxing mountain blasts.

The Fazer I got has 28K km's on the clock, came with the afore mentioned Givi top case, Rizoma grips and after market levers (of dubious origin as I never heard of the brand); she also has the twin headlight mod so both beams are on full time, has had a recent service, brand new Metzeler M3 front and rear tyres, a new battery, serviced front forks and new chain and sprockets.  All in all for the 3.3K euro I think it was a descent deal.  Everything works on the bike in terms of electrics and after a week of ownership and around 700Km's she has not missed a beat.  She is missing the Red Key  :o so I made a spare key and also saved the code with a trusted shop that copies keys so even if I loose both keys I can get another one sorted.  I need a new rear passenger grab rail as the one one the bike seems to have met with something harder than itself at some point and I have ordered a set of Osram nightbreaker plus bulbs as the stock headlight/bulb combination is scary on dark mountain roads as I found out when I first ventured out with the Fazer.

So far it has been used for day to day city driving, a highway trip and some mountain riding and I have to say I am loving the relaxed driving position and overall comfort (compared to my CBR always).  It could do with a bit more torque for mountain riding as keeping up with my friends Multistrada 1200S and BMW R1200R means working the engine a bit but again, compared to the CBR it feels like a luxury grand tourer  :lol

My cage is an 07 Saab 9-3 convertible and that completes the family.

I am looking forward to exchanging useful information with the rest of Fazer family! Ride safe everyone!

Cheers,

Pantelis

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.
