Reminds me of my mate Liane.
She phoned me asking why her Beetle was blowing oil everywhere and could I have a look?
I went to see it, she said she'd done an oil change and filled the oil up to the fill level on the dipstick.
Once I explained that the 'fill level' wasn't actually the top of the dipstick pipe, I drained it and replaced all the blown gaskets for her.  :rolleyes

that reminds me when my daughter got her first car,asked me how to pour the oil down the dip stick tube as level was a bit low  :lol :lol :lol :lol ....i do remind her every now and again

Reminds me of a story of a mate of mine's girlfriend she topped up the car with water putting in a watering can full of water and still couldn't see any fluid in the filler neck. So mate asked where she had poured the water - in the filler cap in the middle of the engine!

To top it all off (excuse the pun) he then drained the engine but manage to strip the thread off the sump - not a happy bunny!

mate of mine (bloke) turned up with a very rattly fiesta. i asked him if he'd checked the oil. he lifts the bonnet, pulls out the dipstick and says "look, it's covered in oil." i told him to wipe it first. we filled up with oil but i wasnt hopeful. he drove 40 odd miles and his engine died. not just the girls...
