Those brake discs look nice. What manufacturer and how much did you pay for them? My front ones are warped, so need replacing. :b

Out of all the discs on ebay for the fazer I think Armstrong are the best looking, aggressive style but not too much! A brand Ive used before and know are hard wearing and good quality. If I need some in the next 50000 miles I'll get some too!
Also second that about Chinese discs, don't take the risk, they are still learning over there that they cant keep 'watering' down metal compositions to cut costs! The end user is the only one who loses and good luck trying to get them to honour their warranty! (if you are still alive after brake failure) :eek

Bit of a conundrum here. If people stopped buying Chinese stuff due to quality issues, they'd have to improve it. The Japs experienced this when they first started producing bikes for a western market. However, as China and the other BRIC countries become wealthier and the West gets poorer, we'll no longer be able to afford higher quality products. It may be that in the future we reach some kind of a compromise, but maybe our golden era of having the best is coming to a close? Maybe we'd better start learning to run our bikes on bodge tape and baling wire like they do in the East :eek . Despite constant warnings of crap from China, the trend seems to be to go on buying it. If you can't afford anything else...

Blackshadow discs. It's about £180 for the full set, they're made here in the UK, and are bloody fantastic discs - loads of guys on the ZX9R forum use them, and use them hard, and that's on a heavier bike that goes a fair bit quicker than the FZS does!

Okay, i've read the reviews, some good positive feedback to start with, then i read your usual 'slag everything off' type of review as well. What i can't figure out is, firstly, how i've not seen or heard of them before as i don't normally miss a trick and i went through a period of searching everywhere for a reasonably priced but good disc? They're even on Ebay so that would indicate to me there are no sizes for our bikes? Secondly, their fitting guide concerning the "Faser" (sic) is a little bit odd especially where the years of manufacture are concerned? And lastly they mention 'floating' discs in their guide, but in one of the reviews i read they mentioned 'fully' floating. When they say fully floating are we talking jingly jangly noisy buggers or just riveted semi floaters? http://www.blackshadow-uk.co.uk/Yamaha.html What i've found since i've been using the internet is that people will trip over themselves to write a bad review about something, whether it's a hotel, holiday resort, bike parts, etc......but hardly anyone takes the time to write good reviews about things, they just take it and run, which is why things can get very confusing online when buying stuff. When i plumped for the Kagizume discs on the front (and now matching rear ![]() I just emailed Blackshadow about discs for the Fazer so i'll let you know when i get a reply.

Just got a reply from Blackshadow about discs for '98 - '03 Fazers:
"..Hi Darren. No Im sorry we dont have any front discs for that model. Peter.."
