Tank Size
#1
Hiya fellas,

Not long had my 2000 boxeye Fazer and really enjoying it. Makes a nice compliment to my Tiger.

Got a few issues which I will post later but for now just wondering if the 20litre fuel tank would be a direct replacement for my 2000 'X' 18Litre tank?

Could really do with a 200 mile range which i'm currently shy of. Getting about 53mpg running down M4 at 90mph then across London to Canary Wharf. Got 2 days out of it once and whilst i made it, it took 16.5 litres to brim - too close for comfort so the bigger tank would be good.

Any advice appreciated in advance.

2000 X (same as mine) is a 20 litre tank already, unless some bugger has downsized it?

If you're gonna do it wait for a foxeye to pop up, 22L and bolts right on.

I believe people can get 230+ miles out of the 22 litre tank though, so if you can get your hands on one of them it'll sort you right out!  Smile

Will the 22 litre tank fit straight on - is it the same shape etc?

According to this article you can put the larger tanks on earlier bikes, i'm not entirely sure about difference of shape though to be truthful?

Yes 02 is the official date of the foxeye. Mine is one of the first foxeyes and registration is 51 plate
