upgrading rear light bulbs
#1
I bought a couple of led stop tail bulbs to replace the crap normal bulbs that I have fitted at the moment, I have to open up the hole slightly for them to fit, the bulbs I got give out a white light and I will take a comparison picture to see how much difference there is

You shouldn't have to open out the hole.
This pic is of two LEDs. The first was a budget one that claimed to be the brightest on the planet and TBH I struggled to see the difference between that and stock.
The second cost a bit more but well worth the money. (Sorry I don't remember where or what)

I used the slightly larger led bulb which has all the led's on the end, then I remembered they only put out light in one direction so would not illuminate the number plate, and what didn't help was the bulbs didn't get any brighter when you applied the brake light!!! so they are going back, when I had my firestorm the red coloured bulbs worked as they should. I am thinking of these bulbs on eBay  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121128611562?s...1438.l2648 which hopefully are better than this type http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130451897163?s...1439.l2649 which were crap

I tried some of the second type for the cage and also found them too big!
Have you seen these?

The link is the bulbs I am thinking of getting.
The ones I got for the cage were about 2mm diameter too large to fit into the lens space.
I did try grinding the edge off but they broke before I got enough of the plastic removed.

that bulb will be no good for your brake light as you need a stop/tail bulb

I tried these but I didn't think the brake light made sufficient difference to the tail light so I took them out
