nice m8!!!!
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - strawberries in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming - WOO HOO! What a Ride!"

Thanks for sharing.

The tree of shame is filling out a bit.  :lol
Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad

Great pics but is it just me or did hardly any of the bikers coming the other way wave or acknowledge you in any way, miserable sods!!
That RT did sound a bit like a diesel on tickover too, but I bet it was comfy Smile

Luke was riding the 1200rt, I had the pleasure of the 1200gs. After 1850 miles on it the best thing I can liken it to is  one of those motorized round bumper boats you get at fun parks, same vibration and enginenoise Smile

Aw Luke what an adventure, thanks for the report & pics. That must be a year's experiences for most peeps squeezed into a couple of weeks. Quodos to you for turning what to most of us would be wishful thinking into reality. Looks like you had a great time. I'm soooo jealous.

I aint surprised you guys didnt gel with GS or RT. You do need to ride them for some time to get tuned in. Its taken me 9k miles and a year.TBH in the first 3 months I was close to selling it. Now I feel I am the groove. Question is, have I changed my perception or have I finally clicked with how to really ride a GS ? I believe the latter cos it really is hard to get it to perform.Riding a speedy or a fazer is far easier...childs play by comparison. You just open the throttle and it goes ! ...just why the GS is such a big seller mystifies me cos I do think its a niche bike. Got to be hype and marketing for sure. For the record I aint going to sit here and prattle on about how great they are , cos it is  a personal and subjective thing. I still have the fazer , but rarely and I mean rarely ride it these days. Maybe says something ??

Great write up luke, and yes I would love to do the usa. At least I can ride their bikes !  LOL
