cheap, good '02 fazer thou. NOW SOLD
#1
2002 fazer 1000, blue, 5 former keepers, absolutely genuine bike thats never been dropped and always garaged .48 k new renthal sprox and heavy duty gold DID cxhain. motor runs sweet as a nut, burns no oil between changes and has never let me down or had any issues, id ride this bike around the globe in complete confidence, its a proper good 'un and a pukka bike. its one of them bikes that has been looked after from new, and it shows in its much better than average condition.
MOT expires august 31st, taxed til end of january 2014.
loads of paperwork including old mots, servicing bills, 3 previous dealers purchase reciepts, owners manual etc showing stuff like..
valves checked and shimmed 02/09  32072m
forks stripped cleaned new seals 05/11
new starter relay 06/12
new battery 08/12 44743 miles, always optimated since etc
bike has almost new hagon rear shock, scottoiler, colour coded belly pan and hugger, wider than stock bars with stainless steel bar ends, temp controllable oxford heated grips wired thru relay so come on with ignition, black zero gravity screen, micron titanium slip on(its only done 400 miles) and original pipe and decent crash bungs, fairly recent head and wheel bearings.
micron link pipe has reduced dia so it runs perfect on standard jetting, but can swap for older stainless micron with full size link pipe if preferred.
thats about it...£1450 all in..now back up for sale, and soon to be taxed and retested which will put the price up by £150 atb paul

shoulder op two weeks ago today. 40 years of bricklaying and a few offs, including a biggie on a zx9rb1 years back finally took their toll. big tendon gone completely, small one almost completely torn, collar bone been semi dislocated for years, finally lostvirtually all use last few months. so they shaved the bone, stitched whats left off my small tendon together, screwed some hooks into the bone to stitch the tendons too and stapled me up. supposed to be 3 weeks in a slingfoam braced four inches from my body then three weeks in a sling stuck to my bodythen a lot of physio and slow recovery followed by being able to ride again in twelve months. bugger that, im self employed, so will be back at work in about six weeks. and in about three weeks i'll be riding down to the south of france with the missus on the 09 gen2 busa ive bought for the job. the old fazer cant stay, ive sold eveerything except my fat bob(gave that to my son and grandson) to buy the suzuki and give me something to aim for and make me heal quicker. i know its a bit loony. but what the hell do we all ride bikes for anyway? because we love it, and we aint giving up on it, no matter what the sensible option is.

Good on ya!
I smashed my left shoulder to pieces in a bad accident about 20 years ago. The actual shoulder joint is now fused, and I do get a fair bit of pain in it, but I was back on bikes as soon as I possibly could. One of the reasons my last four bikes have been Gen 1 Thous, cos I can't reach the bars on sportsbikes, and the Fazer riding position is just about right for me.
Here's to a quick "recovery" and many more happy biking miles in the future  Smile

cheers nick. the bus has helibars, so hoping ill be ok, but if not i'll concede and get a gen 2 fazer thou. i too love gen1s, but want summat newish with low miles so all i gotta think about is tyres and petrol for the next few years touring. talking of tyres the fazers are both good, probably both got 1-2000 miles in em left depending on use, not squared off as i avoid anything except bendy roads and corner to within 5mm of the edge. exup valve checked regular and all tickety boo last check which was 8 months and approx 1200 miles back
donkey best price is £1350 mate

Don't think you will have any probs selling that beaut of a Gen 1 at that (silly?) price. I  have just done an exchange with a guy in Wales -he was looking for a tidy Gen 1 and I (@65) was looking to downsize to the FZS600-I rode my thou down Wed, we shook hands on the deal & I came home with an immaculate 03 600. I could still manage the thou- except hauling it round the back of where I live-have escaped a lot of body wear & tear but have been diagnosed with COPD which limits my energy/strength & the lighter bike is perfect for my needs. Good luck with your convalescence & start practicing your French! :lol

cheers dave, and good luck with the COPD, my mums got that so i know how debilitating it is. Sad
picked up some bits from my old house in peterborough today, so theres an even cheaper option as well for anybody who wants a stocker or has their own bits. the bike with standard can, bar ends, blue vgc touring screen instead of the expensive zero gravity £1250 and the same with no heated grips, £1225.

shoulders healing nicely, yesterday even managed twenty miles on the hayabusa, albeit with three rest stops. this morning put the fazer onto my insurance as ive decided to keep it. gen 1s are just too good, and it means i can use me minty busa on nice days only, keep its residual up. thanks for the kind comments, it goes without saying we all know just how good these bikes are, its kinda a huge relief to still have it. id still like a lower mileage ivanised one with an r1 f/end, but until then i got my trusty old feller

Well there you go, you've got some modding ahead of you now! The engines are pretty much bulletproof, IMO you might as well get the one you know and trust sorted!

bugger that mate, im running three bikes now including the HD me boys got lol. ill just keep on top of the servicing and the exup valve, that'l do me.. Smile Smile ps my missus still prefers the fazer over the other two..the harley cost eleven grand, the busa just under six, and the fazer two weeks bricklaying, so about £1500..
