Haha, sounds like fun. Do you get to wear a storm trooper outfit and drive an armoured van?

I work in a 24 hour care home so there are two of us on waking nights every night. I love my job but I'm glad to be home and off until Sunday! I am determined to get my bike back on the road this week too! I might even have a chance to get some pics of it!!
Off to bed now though! Night lads! Chris

I'm doing Wednesday and Thursday nights and then 2 weeks off and going to the Lake District in a little cottage with a wood burner. Just me the Wife and our dog. Lots of walking, pubs and eating. Can't wait.

Its 0445 and no I is not on night shift but the sun is coming up I is waiting for the :z to do their job. So is it only me that is up at this time not needing to get to work in the early hours and dreaming of the open road where I is free to open the throttle?

You are not alone! The only difference is that I'm on early shift for the next 2 sets, so its up at 4.30. The blast to work is a hoot though

There have been some good rides to work and back - at last. Not tonight though, peeing down when I left home.
When was getting kitted up to leave for home the other day, Gino, the shift guy for that night commented on what a faff it seemed to be compared to just getting in a car. He doesn't get bikes at all, and it wasn't worth trying to explain, even if I could. And I wanted to get home. Lennie (female, who I took over from tonight)on the other hand, is a fellow biker. I'm rambling on, I know. Just trying to stay awake :rolleyes

It isn't faffing as I love getting geared up and out regardless where I is and yes none bikers don't get it. I tend to turn to UTub in early hours. A couple of favs are anything crashing or off's and barron von grumble. Have a speedy shift mate Daz

I agree Daz, getting kitted up is all part of the pleasure
Utube doesn't work too well on works computer, takes ages loading and usually ends up freezing, that's if it doesn't block it as 'tasteless and/or offensive' even when it is about a basket of fluffy kittens :rolleyes . So I annoy other people who are working nights instead :evil Damp outside, so in the car again (wimp...)tonight. Warmer though, so stuff will start to grow properly on the allotrment, I hope. My Fine Young Man asked me today what I would like for my birthday. I said I would like a tank bag (I have been borrowing his, my last one got trashed when the Fazer was written off). He misheard and was very suprised at my request for a handbag. We've been together a long time, and he never realised I was that into them... :rollin

Chris, been looking elsethread, nice to see your bike MoT'd and looking v slinky
I no longer own a Fazer, though my Fine Young Man has one. I now have a BMW F800R which is very different, but lots of fun. I would love to post some pics, but feel as though I shouldn't, this site being the Home of the Foccers, an' all.
Hey Pongeroon, thanks, I've not been off it since I got it MOT'd! Love being out on my bike again.
Just realised you've not done an introduction thread so, welcome to the forum you could post a pic or two of your bike if you made an introduction thread I've not been on shift for while so I've not been about on here over night but on again on sunday. what do you do? Chris
31-05-13, 01:03 AM
Hi Chris
. I'm a paramedic in the Midlands. I didn't do an intro thread, I used to post a bit on here a few years ago, so didn't feel the need, though I don't suppose anyone remembers me. I was more of a lurker than a poster :lol Busy tonight? Not too bad here so far. The last few nights have been :z , which is not a good thing for me, I need to stay awake. Good for the esteemed citizens though, not getting ill :lol
31-05-13, 09:03 AM
Wow, Mucho respect to you for doing your job. I'm not on again till sunday night and then quite a few days off until friday saturday next week. I know what you mean, working as carer myself then a quite night can be a long night but it's nice the people in our care are sleeping well.
Stick a pic up of your bike in here, you won't get banned for it. haha. Chris

I hope to finish about 4am tomorrow and give the Fazer a bloody good thrashing for the 10 miles of motorway on my route home. Should be able to max it out. Well it keeps the battery charged

Off to training centre tomorrow for refresher driving course, hope I can stay awake :eek Oh, and last night I took a guy into hospital who had a mishap while having some rest and relaxation with his wife...There but for the grace of God (or whoever)...
