HI all
Had my Fazer for a couple of weeks now and I must say I'm really disapointed with it. The vibrations through the right handlbar, and to a lesser extent, the right footpeg are bloody awful. The screen is useless. Why bother putting one on it when it does bugger all apart from direct the wind and flies right into your face? I bought a MRA Vario screen and what a bloody joke - £109 wasted. Its no better than the original and the stupid spoiler thing (gimmick) makes no difference whatever position its in. Anyway rant over. Ayone want to buy a 2002 Fazer 600?

Maybe a carb balance could help with the unwanted vibes?
Can't say i've heard anyone complain about feeling in the right footpeg before to be honest?
More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.
Also might be worth checking wheel allignment and bearings to see if that stops the vibes, fazers aren't generally a very vibey bike.
As for the screen, a powerbronze double bubble is fine on mine.

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.
As Chris & darrsi suggest why not check the bike over-could be as they say carbs out of balance, wheel alignment, bearings or engine mount bushes. Also have a look at your chain & sprockets. The Fazers not perfect but should be a smooth ride if everything ok.
I've had three fazer 600's and covered a lot of miles on them. Not felt any vibes on them, they're normally a smooth bike!
There's something not right with yours!

Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!
I have a 98 fazer with 58000 miles never noticed any vibes.
Trundle also has a Harley 8) , so surely saying I'm disapointed with a Fazer has got to be a wind up :eek .
To be a bit more helpfull, some FZS600's have a slight vibration patch between about 5,800 and 6,200 r.p.m. but usually only felt at the handlebars and not enough to spoil the ride. I agree the standard screen is pretty useless, but find the double bubble on my Mk1 Fazer 600 (rectangular headlights model) works good for me.
Hope you get it all sorted and come to love it.
Hi all
Yes Limax2 I do have a Harley and the 'engine' vibrates like hell but there are no vibes felt at bars or pegs or anywhere else. The engine is designed to move fore and aft on rubber mounts. Anyways it seems like I have a problem. Carb balance will be my first task methinks.

where r u based trundle? oh and how much do you want for it?

I've noticed on mine there can be a little (not much) vibe through the pegs at around 5000 rpm, but I just tend to knock it up a gear if I'm cruising to get it out of that range.

Trundle I'm not exactly sure that the popularity of the bike, a forum dedicated to it and the reviews back up your assertion. However I would be whole heartily inclined to believe the other foc'cers. There is summat up with yours. Could be a multitude of things including (possibly) wheel balancing, rear wheel chain alignment off.
The screens on a lot of bikes are useless, they're even worse on naked/street fighters :lol . You're going to get flies in your face (preferably closed visor) whatever happens so best just deal with it.
Please do some investigation on the bike before writing it off, they're stunning little bits of kit.

Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one. Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.
It won't be chain, sprocket, wheel alignment, etc, if there's vibration in the right foot peg, he'd be immediately referring to the left peg, and it would be more than obvious.
I've just read on another forum about someone with the same problem, right foot peg and right handlebar vibration, and it turned out to be a broken engine mount bolt, on the right side!
Maybe worth a check to eliminate it?

I've had all the above problems and they simply have no effect on the right side of the bike.
I was out on the bike after reading this post yesterday and i had zero vibration or ill feeling from the right foot peg at all, so something is very amiss with trundle's bike for him to get that feeling, especially when it's mainly on the right side which is very unusual?

Ahah! This may explain my bike then... since I replaced the front sprocket, the vibrations from the left have gone, but I'm now noticing vibrations on the right, mostly through the right footpeg Since I had the engine out, its probably a good idea to check the mounts
I had a problem a bit like this when I got mine new in 2001 but mainly with vibration in the throttle hand.
I felt like I was always pushing myself back on the seat (seat slopes towards the tank).
I ended up having the seat re-shaped in 2003 (seat now rises up as it meets the tank) and the problem immediately disappeared.
The bikes now done 69,000 miles.
It could be the exhaust vibrating. They seem to resonate at around 5-6000rpm and you'd probably feel it more at your right foot.
For me it happens all the way through the rev range. Pretty sure its engine speed and not road speed affecting it which to me is good as I have a spare engine

Try riding without the screen, you will notice difference. The screen helps to keep the wind off your chest. Without visor I always got too cold when riding, or, if dressed properly, too hot when stopped/going slow. Plus, at higher speeds, when you tuck down, visor is ultrahepful. If, however, you want a touring bike, not a sports-touring one, go for a nice big enduro with screen as big as you can find. It does keep bugs away better.
Vibes can be due to bad carbs synchronization - it's an inline four engine, should be as buzz free as possible. I did try riding single cylinder for a while and enjoy the difference. Just make sure it is set up right (carbs, and all the bolts in place).
Most things done in a hurry need to be done again - patiently.
Well bugger me- I hadn't thought about the exhaust causing the vibes (His Dudeness). My bike has an aftermarket Arrow exhaust. Perhaps that's causing the vibes right bar and right footpeg doh. Will check that out as well as sync the carbs cheers.
