Touch-up Paint??
#1
Hi Guys n Dolls, I have a couple of deep scratches on my tank and wondered if anyone has had the same problem (deep scratches) and how you've got round it?  I went to Halfrauds earlier today but they never had a black metallic repair kit, I think its Yamaha Black Pearl I'm after so any help will be appreciated.

After denting my tank earlier in the year, I tried a fix of filler, sanding, black paint & lacquer. I am not happy with it, and it's another excuse to respray the bike this summer.

Hiya mate, yeah I think a pro fix will be better as I'm not good with that side of repairs, mechanically I'm ok but cosmetically , zero patience.

Thanks Rich

Hi Rich

If its paint you need to touch up you will need wet & dry at different grades, also the lacquer to protect it after you have touched up. you will need to blend 10x the size of the scratch or there abouts so you it looks smooth. This is not a job for the faint hearted as you may bugger it up so be prepared to pay some one to rectify any atemps you have undertaken.

For a simple cut and polish here is what has been followed with success:

Hope this helps

Hi Guys and thanks for all your tips, I think I may go down the proper route and get a sprayer to do it for me as like I said I have not a lot of patience with paint n stuff like that.
