Going to get my first contract with a data element.
1. How much mobile data do you use a month? Difference between 500MB and 1GB is only £2.50 a month, but £30 a year is £30 a year!
2. Any experience of HTC Desire C, or Sony Xperia Miro?
Cheers,
Andy
Go for 1gig. Its handy
Smell ones mother. Yaas!
Depends on usage!
I've 500mb and it doesn't inhibit my usage.
But I've got WiFi both at home and at work, so I never need to use it too much.
Hope that helps anyway!

I don't have WiFi access at work, but wouldn't be surfing there anyway, just picking up emails.
Look around for deals on 'old' phones. I have a Samsung Galaxy SII and it was just updated to Jelly Bean operating systems (so is right up to date).
HTC's sense User Interface is quite nice for people moving from feature phones (Nokia's usually). Dunno about the Sony.
I think I have 1gig but have never gone over. Nice to have more data allowance if you plan to use the phone as a sat nav often. Works well on the bike - earphones in under the helmet, volume to max and it'll navigate you very well.
I have a sony U,would never get another Sony after this contract runs out.Its forever dropping connection with my provider and the GPS on it is always losing signal and takes ages to come back.
I,ve seen the Samsung S3 going for £21.50 a month on a 12 month contract.
Until you know what your average current use is then there's no way to tell. I hammer mine but rarely go above 500Mb, but I use WiFi a lot. I'm sure your current provider could furnish you with the details.

If u go with 3 its unlimited data.

My only woe is the camera isn't the best
Yeah, think that's what I'm going to go for. They'll do 512mb for £7.50, or 1gb for £10. Maybe I can start at 512mb and upgrade if it's not enough?
That's a good option. Most mobile operators will quite happily let you up your tariff or add on extras at any point whereas there is a huge list of restrictions when downgrading. If its any help, I was on 500MB of data but never got close and when my renewal came up I switched down to 250MB - I rarely get about 100MB. HOWEVER, I spend 90% of my time at home where I have WiFi. My average WiFi usage is probably around 4-5 GB (max I hit was 15GB - still have no idea how!)
That is very helpful Dead Eye, thanks.
I worked for Carphone Warehouse for 4 years so had to deal with these sorts of things a lot
I'm with Vodafone and they offer unlimited data for the first three months while you are settling in.
Been with them for over 10 years and currently get 1GB, 600 mins, unlimited calls to other VF users, unlimited texts and a Samsung galaxy Ace all for £13/mth.
I used to not give a foc, then I discovered Red Bull and now I don't give a flying foc !!!

If you don't make many calls or texts' then try Ovivo.com, they have a sim only deal 150mins, 250 texts and 500mb of data. You pay a one off £15 for the sim and n o t h i n g else.
You get the £15 in credit too! only caveat is that they display an advert when you access the internet, but you just scroll down and select ok, and surf away.

Just had a look (actually www.ovivomobile.com), looks too god to be true. Wonder what happens to your number if the company goes belly-up? Can't see what network they use. For £15 I may get a sim though and see what it's like.
My wife has the HTC Desire C which is OK. My daughter has the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 which was about the same price and is a far better phone.
I personally have 750mb data and rarely get anywhere near the limit. If you like watching YouTube vids or BBC iPlayer then you're going to eat data.
They use Vodafone, and apparently they plan to be around for a very long time, but I think your number is protected, you can port your current number across too.
