Hi All.

Hi everyone.

Firstly I'm new to the forum so thought id say hello. Had a few fazers over the years both 600's and 1000's. Now on my 3rd fzs600 as I need better fuel economy.  Great to be back on the fazer. Brilliant bikes and this looks like a great forum.

One question I have is does anyone know of any mod to raise the seat height as I'm finding it a little low for comfort now. I have heard of the suspension mod, but does this alter handling?

Many thanks..

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

Getting shorter dog legs will raise the rear a bit, it will have quite a minimal effect on handling. Think it makes the bike tip in faster to turns if i remember correctly.

Put an add up in the wanted/sale section and see if anyone has a set you could buy and try them, if you don't like them then you can always swap them again.  Wink

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Hi Chris thanks for your response.  I'll definitely check that out. Wasn't an issue before, but after the 1000 I now get cramp on longer journeys.

I was thinking of packing out thw seat more to add height, but this is probably an easier option.

Cheers Kris

Ah, dog legs won't change the position you sit mate just the hight of the rear end of the bike so won't make a difference to you getting cramp. Is the cramp in your legs or arms?

You have a few choices to be honest...

if it's your legs, which I assume it is, then something like an air hawk cushion would mean the seat would effectively be a bit higher (and more comfortable), therefore making the angle of your knees and hips not so tight. This could also be achieved by lowering your footpegs (although that could effect your ground clearance whilst leaned over).

if it's arms that are the problem then fitting bar risers will take some of the weight off your arms as you'd be sitting more upright so weight is transferred to your bum. Although the fazer is quite upright anyway.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, altho I may try the dog legs tonraise the height in total anyway as it still feels low when feet are to the ground. I have looked at a few cushions, but they are fairly pricey for what they are. May tey both your suggestions.

Thanks again Smile

Also lowering foot pegs is a no go as they are fairly low as standard.  Think that would cause more issues than its worth really. I'll prob just get used to it tbh.

No problem mate.

The air hawk seats are apparently very good, generally get very good reviews. Ye, I wouldn't want the pegs any lower either but it is another option for some people  Smile

They are pretty expensive but it can be used on pretty much any bike and should at least give you a bit more comfort for legs/arse/back etc.  :lol
