what did you do with your fazer today ?
Since I don't have access to compressed air, I'm going to try and tidy up one half of the caliper at a time Smile So I'll clean it all up, put new seals in, clean the piston and pop it back in (haha, like its going to be that easy!) then clamp it and get the other one out using the same method of hooking it up to the brake lines, bleeding it and forcing the piston out - it'll be a bit more of a pain, but I've had to deal with worse before

removed the last of the coolant pipes ready for the final silicone ones to arrive, swung radiator down to give me access to clean the front of the frame and removed the metal coolant pipes below radiator to clean them up and the frame behind them. All set for silicone pipes to arrive and then got to buy some coolant  Big Grin

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Went to Halfords & bought some exotic scratch remover paste/polish  called  "Farecla-treated windscreen and guess what... IT WORKED! :lol  Had previously tried "Xerapol" without much success.
Also bought a polishing wheel ready to tackle the alloy bits & although I couldn't find "Plus Gas" , got a spray can of "Shock & Unlock" to treat corroded exhaust nuts/studs & rad fixings prior to removal.
Also had the front fairing (nosecone) off to repair a small crack that was working its way towards LHS indicator. Superglue &  careful use of soldering iron on inside surface-job done-sorted! While everything off front cleaned all surfaces & treated electrical connectors to a dose of ACF 50.
Bike looking better by the day, :lol :lol  Happy Grandad!

Rear caliper seals turned up so spent the day sorting it out, cleaning it up and bleeding the system with my new braided lines. Then turned my attention to the front and got them sorted as well - could probably do with new seals at the front as well, but its expensive and its not in dire need as all the pistons move (1 was stubborn, but out of 8 that's not bad Tongue)

So yay for new brakes, did a little bit of a test and all feels good, shall know more when I go out for a decent ride Big Grin

More like a snail!  :'(

The red VFR belongs to a Uni friend of mine. He's also on a restricted 33 brake license, but his retrictor is on the throttle, he can barely twist it - horrible to ride!! The Fazer runs rings round him. Literally - it's faster (on 33bhp at least  :b ) and handles better!!

Did a Slow Riding/ Machine Control course with the Solent Advanced Motorcyclists this morning, then went to Russ' Tyres in Horndean to get a new front in the afternoon, followed by 100 miles or so of fun whilst scrubbing it in Smile

Cleaned it before going for one last blast on my favourite local roads before part chopping it on Monday, after nearly nine years the Fazer still manages to put a real 'ear to ear' grin on my face  Big Grin , but I just fancy a change  Wink

Just arrived back from the Anglesey Circuit on the Fazer, 180 miles, great weather. Classic Racing Motorcycle Club meeting, great racing, good to see the old machines performing well.
Received my first Foccer salute at 10am near Bethesda. I wasn't quick enough to respond so apologies to you. It was much appreciated.
