Does anyone know if the google earth app can be played on PC and if so how? As dead eye I is always exploring and have been geographically challenged at times in some real nice places.

Download and install the Google earth app (search in Google) and you'll be able to export the routes you've travelled either via the sd card or Google drive.

GOogle earth exists for ios and Android too.

Yes I already have google earth on my phone but would like to have it on my PC so I could view my tracks data on PC as the two apps drain my battery

In My tracks you need to "save to external storage" (as KML) (then transfer via usb) or share privately via email (top right share icon) or send to google drive (top right, but in one, triangle shape).

I have no idea how to get it to play the same as it does in Android though.

I have down load it and it works fine. I had down loaded this a couple of days ago and I just right click on the file then chose "open with" This is where google earth icon is:

In the left hand colom just above Earth  is a button push that and it plays. I is well impressed. So we need to set up a bourd so we can share run outs as its a fantastic insight.

I got it to play but it doesn't look half as good as on the android phone, It doesn't seem to maintain a zoom on the location afaics.  I'm gonna stick to using the S3 and keeping it charged ;-)

I have the galaxy S+ that's running android Ice cream 4.0.4 that I installed on it. Its processore and memory is not up to runing everything at the same time. But never the less I is well impressed.
