Looks interesting - just installed it and will use it next time I go out. Most Google products are pretty awesome - can't wait to get my hands on some Google Glasses next year Big Grin

Just stepped into the world of technology by downloading the google thingy. So I predict a week of fustration and getting really shirty over my inability to understand all things that are smarter than me. Mainly my phone.

PS Just found a button on my tv remote that I have owned for 3 years that jumps to previouse channel. I is now obsessed with pussing buttons. Not right in the head me thinks.  :lol

I use My Tracks all the time, not just for biking, but cycling, country walks etc. It's great. Be aware though that it records maximum speed, so don't let the rozzers see it .....
I've also tried CRADAR, which covers the falling off bit. Instead of ringing the ambulance service it texts a number you choose (the wife ?  :eek ) and tells them you've fallen off giving a location on Google maps. Has a similar 60 second 'cooling off' period where you can override before it transmits.
It also uses the phone's 'accelerometer' to detect a crash. I've tested it once so far, and it went off on a false alarm before I'd left the garage. Might require some fine tuning ......

You can tweak the sensitivity quite a lot with CRADAR. I like that it allows you to text a number of your choice but it kind of depends on whether you have someone reliable enough and sensible enough to entrust with your potential safety Tongue By this I mean, my friend knows to obviously try and call me first and to check Google Latitude to see if I am still moving before raising any alarm Smile

I found cradar a bit weird.  I'd set it going and when I went back to it would be back on the "start monitoring" option.  Has this happened to either of you?

I haven't tried it again since I 'fell off' in the garage. Must give it another go.

Don't knock it.  Kids, mortgages, holidays, expectations, socialising *shudder*.  Marriage is good but definitely an acquired taste......give it another 10 years of freedom before you get hitched  :lol

Wasn't knocking it, just saying that I'm yet to have found a partner to spend the rest of my life with and at 23 that's not overly surprising Smile

Tried this out today and is accurate. Uploaded to goggle drive of which I need to learn how to use the PC side of things. On the phone you can play back on Goggle Earth and get real life road views. My phone can not down load the pics fast enough but considering it has potential. I will be using it over next couple of months.

I was just trying to point out that wives are not necessarily the most logical people when it comes to dealing with emergencies (in my experience  :look )

:rollin I hadn't even noticed the playback button.  It's awesome !.  It looks like you're green laning due to the GPS fix timing.  As the playback goes at the same speed you do sometimes it absolutely flies .  I didn't half laugh.

Been using this myself, will be handy in the future as on more than one occasion I've gone out, gotten lost, found some awesome roads, then had absolutely no idea where they were to revisit them Tongue
