There are certain advantages to growing old when it comes to bike insurance, wish my pension would go up by 9% :'(

Just renewed ny insurance, last year it was £95. I was quoted £140 to renew by the same firm. Went online and found one for £72 excluding tax etc. I told my insurance co. this, and they said "ok, we'll do it all in for £75"

Fist pump moment!!

Mine is £152 for 15 months with MCE, not the cheapest I found  but with loads of extras included so more than happy.

If you haven't already, take and pass an IAM or ROSPA test. Even if you dont learn anything you didn't already know, you will reduce your premiums, every single year.

pissed off with mine. used to be £103 fc with a few extras thrown in as well
then a no fault of mine prang (i was stationary and he bounced of the back of a lorry in to me from the other side of the road) and because the bike was written off that insurance company would no longer insure me, bang gose 7 months insurance i had left.
had to go with a firm that would insure a written off bike and now because of the shunt and the fact its an ex write off i pay £312 fc Sad

i have IAMs but not all companys give a discount for it and sometimes i found i actualy got a lower quote if i didnt say i was iams lol
when it comes up for renewal i will look harder for a better deal again but affter the crash it was just a mad rush to find a company that would insure an ex write off.
i meen jesh it was a scrape to the nose cone, peg and a POSSIBLE bend to the handlebars lol (they couldnt see a bend but because it had touched the ground they had to say it was bent ) slight mark to crash bung and a new brake leaver and a small mark on mirror and indicator.

Now i have moved, bike is garaged which it wasnt before and has a thatchem approved lock that it didnt before and a better postcode area. so i hope i can get back down to around £100-150ish at renewal
