Downpipes Refurb

Hi guys, gonna be refurbing my original downpipes in the next couple of weeks as they have started to go rusty. The thing is i know what to do and what paint to get as it has been covered many times before however i cant find anything to say how much paint is needed?  is one can of 500ml spray paint enough or should i buy 2.  The reason i ask is that it is a lot cheaper online and i dont want to buy 1 online then be stuck and have to go out and buy another more expensive one in a local shop.  Thanks

I used granville cylinder black on my exhaust and it came up great. I've used bbq high temp paint in the past and it peeled away in no time but the granville stuff still looks good. The 250ml tin is loads for an exhaust you could probably give it 10 coats if you wanted to :lol

I'm presuming you're on about black pipes? If so they'll be chipped occasionally, another can won't go to waste.

I owned a Bandit 600 for 2 years and I did my stainless pipes with bbq paint early last year. After 2 months I got a change of heart and wanted to go back to the stainless look. I couldn't get the damn bbq paint off for love nor money. Tried Nitromors for hours, and sanding with 600 grade sandpaper to very very slow effect. It certainly never flaked off on me during that 2 months. Just bought 2 tins of it yesterday for another project. It's called Rust-oleum Stove and BBQ Paint. Expensive....but excellent IMO.
