Honda take over??
#1
talking to a mate and he said one of his other mate said that Honda bought Yamaha out as  they were having financial difficulty.
personally I think he is talking a load of of tosh.
If I wanted to make a life-long career out of
working with the mentally retarded I would
have opened a Harley Davidson Dealership!

A quick search and nothing flagged up and it'd be big news if they have or were even thinking about it as there would be rumour storys etc all over the internet. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it just yet  Wink

Not that I have anything against Honda, they do make some very nice machines.

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

surely, given the choice, it would be far better for Honda to buy Yamaha rather than Mr ying dinga dong across the water !!

I do agree, hence my last sentence. It'd be a shame for yamaha to not be an independant company but if it had to happen then they could do a lot worse than honda, who make some great bikes.

Read this article today from Bennetts

The part that caught my eye was this;

"Bennetts data shows that today’s biker is most likely to be aged over 35, middle class, working in IT or telecoms and likely to ride a Honda.  Whether commuting or riding as a hobby, the image of a ‘biker’ has changed."

Think I prefer the old image of a tattooed scumbag pirate of the land, at least people kept their distance from you on the road incase they pissed you off and incurred your hairy, bar fight hardened wrath! haha  :lol

Hmm honda Yamaha hybrid bike ... a supercharged tank  springs to mind .... if this were true it wouldn`t be the worst combination
Ive owned both and like em both ... and therefore i believe both god makes ... must add though just the word " Honda " does tend to add a couple thousand to the price at times  :rolleyes
Working on this bit :OP

bennetts talking BS. Its exactly the same as in the 70s....figures way influenced by commuter bikes.I see more bmw on roads these days
than hondas...

as for bikers image...FFS just when has the average biker been a hairy  bad ass???...The last 15 yrs has been one of maturing middle class ownership of race reps now turning to adventure bikes in their early dotage. Hardly bad ass.....even Hardly riders are mostly doctors and dentists, about the only folk who can afford the damn things...

watch " wild hogs" comedy movie...to me that says it all !
