Why? Are they as bad as 'Yamaha'?

I have owned Aprillia which have a similar reputation but prooved to be, well obviously not cheap, lets say, not unreasonable.

That piece of kit for the duc is the handguard, mirror and indicator assembly and is obviously designer kit. Take a bike like the XT1200 Super Tenere, Yamaha's closest equivelent, and those parts are going to cost you well over a ton a side. The best prices I can find for the duc show their kit costs over twice as much, but lets be honest here, which one looks sexy? And which looks like it belongs on a tractor.

I nearly choked on my brew when I read this! :lol ! My Aprilia Futura nearly killed me when the rear wheel bearing locked up mid lean on a roundabout. A replacement one from Aprilia was £182!!!!! This bearing was exclusively made for that bike, and nothing else anywhere in the world uses it!

They're not cheap, they're extortionate!!!!! Ducati are exactly the same!

£182 for the main bearing is expensive, I agree, espeacially since the only thing that made it different from the £20 or £30 bearing it was based on was the speedo pickup. In over seven years with the Futura, other then normal consumables, I had to replace two reg/recs, a starter solinoid, some coils, the clutch slave seal and one relay (£3), so I could hardly call it an expnsive bike for me. Think for a minute how much Yamaha charge for throttle cables, and anything to do with the exup valve?

I am not saying the Ducati, (or Aprillia) are not expensive, I am saying that all bike makers have some parts with rediculous prices.

For the OP, would you consider these:

I had some brush/hand guards fitted to my naked SV650 which had been fitted with renthal bars.

I think these were aftermarket ones designed for a motoX bike they looked ok though. Big Grin
