Are the 98 - 03 bikes all using the same clocks, are they interchangeable between each year?

I just looked on Fazerspares and their parts are listed as 97-03 and they have clocks on there. There's no mention of any particular years at all so i'd say they are compatible.
Don't forget the mileage on them though.

Aha thanks, i'm not changing them.
My bike is a donor bike for a guy who is making carbon weave stick on bits to sell on ebay, its a gorgeous weave. He needs a donor to set up the templates. I mentioned this site and he wanted to confirm how many models of bike that one template will fit. As mine is the donor i get the parts free ![]()

Earlier ones only had one button I think and gold surround, later had two and a black surround. My 2001 has the two buttons.

its only a hole needed so could be sold stating the 2 button version needs hole punching out with maybe a template to do it? my 98 has just the 1 button but manual shows 2 so maybe clock was optional extra on early bikes?

Now you mention it, i remember the (time) clock was added to the 2000 'S' models with the extra button.

Perfect so it looks like that 98-99 are one button clocks
and 00-03 are two button clocks Do you agree?

Never saw the point of carbon fibre stick on bits, carbon fibre was developed to be light weight and strong, you are actually adding weight (addmittedly not much) to something already strong enough, just seems so wrong to me.
A bit like the boy racers that do all the tuning mods and then fit an extra alternator to power the amps and speakers weighing the boot down, morons......

Captain Haddock.
I am not blinging my bike up boy racer style, just picking out some areas with a nice weave carbon. I think the 5 grams of weight used to do the clocks, top yoke(which is badly scratched) and heels plates is hardly going to make a difference to my fat arse on the bike anyway. Besides i'm not sticking it on your bike, judge later when i post the photos. You never know you might like it. :b

'00 Onwards already have a carbon-look bit. You'd think I'd have know that before, what with being on the bike for 3 1/2 hours every day :look

yeah so does mine, 02 bike, but we all have it, this is different and will come in 2 parts to cover the other section.
if its shit i can always take it off.

I could be wrong, and i can't be arsed to go and have a look, but i don't think my 2000 clocks have that?

Good idea i'm all for indivuality, 5 grams could tip the scales though!
