Hi guys, planning a trip to Germany next year on the trusty thou. I have just fitted a top box or my clothes etc. but i wanted a small bag up front for passport, wallet and tunnel tickets saving me the hassle of going through jacket pockets.. The Oxford X2 looks as though it would fit the bill but wanted to get peoples thoughts and ideas before spending £40 on a bag.. http://www.oxprod.com/index.php?pg=3&act...pid=546&p=
If you do have one a picture of it on a Gen1 would be very much appreceated.
thanks,
Lord,

I`ve got a smallish Givi magnetic tankbag that is now redundant, complete with rain cover. Top zips off if you just want to use it as a map holder and the main section also makes a small rucksack.
If you are interested I`m in South Cambs near Duxford IWM and junction 10 of the M11. Don`t have any pics to show you what it`s like on the bike Mobile 07952406359
Cheers for reply any idea how many litres it is? the x2 is 2 litres and would be ideal for my needs i think.
The smallest givi one i could find is 6 litres..
thanks,

The one I`ve got is about 6 litres (similar to the Oxford first time tankbag without the side pockets) so it may be larger than what you are looking for but it`s here if you want it.
Starting to think maybe a slightly larger tank bag could be useful. any idea what model it is so i can look it up? do you also have a price in mind? if no longer available I may go for an Oxford X4
Thanks

I've used big and small over the years I had no trouble with the larger one but the small one blew off when I got a bit excited in Ireland, in the future i will now I chuck a bungee cord or similar over any size one to be sure it don't happen again
Some songs are very very long, but this one isn't !
I've got an oxford sport tank bag which doesn't like to stay on at certain speeds. I've converted it into a tailpack and strapped it on. Can't trust it on my gen II as I've had it flip up and rest on my chest on the motorway! :o
Cheers for the replies guys. I already have a 34 litre top box I am taking with me so luggage shouldn't be an issue. this is mainly for small bits and pieces such as change for tolls and passport etc.
I have a set of Renthal bars and my GPS is attached to that so don't want to go too big on the bag front so i can see the GPS

If anyone is interested I went for the Oxford X2 in the end. really impressed with it. The size is perfect for wallet and passport etc. also has an extra security strap to wrap round the front of the bike should the magnets let go. it claims to be waterproof without a cover (time will tell). has a small hole for charging phones etc.as well.
I managed to get it for £30 so well happy with the price too
