Would not have guessed that , looks like a first day apprentice job. fitted the links but never peened the ends of the rivits.
You have been extremely lucky it did not come apart when riding. A few choice words to the garage I would say is in order.
Let us know how you get on
It was a soft split link which I've since discovered today are not recommended for over 500 cc bikes. I'm going to get the mechanic to come to me and fit a proper split link.
glad you found the fault before the fault found you

dont take any flannel from the garage, they NEED to come to you and fix the problem the correct way and of course, foc
One, is never going to be enough.....
I can't imagine a mechanic putting a split link on a Fazer?
For starters they'd be lucky to even find one that size!
Sounds to me like a sloppy bit of riveting.
More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.
The mechanic has been round and fitted the new proper link that I got. Watched him fit it. No problems. He was very apologetic. Now, new tyres to be fitted Saturday and scrubbing in this weekend. I think the thermals will be needed.
Maybe even studded tyres :lol
