My FZ1 Fazer is gone ...
#1
I sold it, it served me well for 28,000 miles, over three years in sunshine, snow, rain, hail I commuted, did sunny day blasts, did a track day on it, went on holiday on it. But in the end I got bored of it ...

Sad

So after much searching for a replacement, and it did take a long time as the Fazer was such a competent bike ... I part ex'ed it in and got a 2005 R1. After 600 miles I already find it more comfortable, nicer to ride and bizarrely more economical (49mpg ... best the Fazer ever got was 43 and that was really hard work the 49mpg was easy).

Happy days, thanks for all the help with my daft fazer questions

The comfort thing is always a personal thing, for me there is less weight on my lower back and arse, and the seat padding is more comfy than the stock FZ1. Wrists get a bit sore but that will pass (did on previous sports bikes) just adapting to the riding position. Better wind protection too, so is warmer on chilly mornings. For me the R1 is the first bike I test rode over the last 6 months (and there were alot) that just felt right.

Fueling is spot on too, just highlighted how patchy the FZ1 could be (mine was a 07 registered 06 model) without any mods.

Got no grumbles really about the FZ1 and don't want to get a downer on it, just had its foibles Smile
