Suspension upgrade
#1
Guys,
This winter I am going to throw some money at a suspension upgrade for both ends of my '05 Fazer thou.  I have already owned the bike for five years and expect to have it for many more so don't mind making a reasonable investment in the improvements.  So, the question I have for you is Maxton or K-Tech?  Most of my riding of the Fazer is solo, road use only, and I would describe my riding as 'progressive'.  (I am more than competent but far from a WSB hero.  I'm sure you get my drift)
Opinions please  Big Grin

I had my front forks redone at HM Racing here in Kent, with new K-Tech internals. It's certainly an improvement but, if I'm honest, not quite as big an improvement as I was expecting and at 500 odd quid all in was quite an expensive option. I guess I don't regret it though. On the rear I've the regular Nitron replacement with the single damping/rebound adjuster. Works just fine, better than the stock but I've nothing else to compare it with on the FZS so others here may know of a better alternative?

Someone sent me a postcard picture of the earth. On the back it said, "Wish you were here."

Ktec front reworked. Very happy with it.

Nitron top spec shock On rear, had a slight issue a couple of years with A wrong circlip fitted other than that its been great.
Well untill a friend changed my setting and have never got it fully right since LOL.

If I was to do it again from scratch I would most likely do ktec front again but maybe try the R6 rear as I don't ride hard enough to justify the top end nitron. Nice as it is.

If you're interested, I have a used Ohlins shock (YA050 - 46PRCS - with remote adjuster) for sale - it came off my 2003 FZS 1000, so should be fine on the 2005.  I'm looking for £400 - other Fazer bits also for sale - http://houlsby.net/bikebits/
