Hi all, just wondering if one of you guys could do me a favour, son has just passed his A2 bike test which means he is restricted for 2 years to 33bhp. He is thinking of buying a fzs600 and I would like a drawing of the washers that go into the air intake so as I can make some. Can anyone help me out?
dont know much about these restricters :\ ..... great to make your own but would`nt you need a certificate to satisfy big brother
One, is never going to be enough.....
Thanks for the reply. According to the bumf I have read dont need a cirtificate for plod and some insurance companies dont ask for one, anyway sure you can buy one from somewhere
had a quick look on the net cant find measurements :\ someone will be along shortly who have the plates loose that they could measure for you ......good luck
One, is never going to be enough.....

i dont know about the size but i know he,ll be chuffed with bike even when it is restricted
mine is restricted with washers and it still goes like stink on acceleration -its only mid and top range that the washers restrict it - or so ive been told so dont flame me if im wrong , but after going from a 125 to restricted 600 im still smiling even after two weeks :lol
shine on you crazy diamond
I found riding Mrs's 600 with restritor on they dont hang around
just have to use gears as the bike runs out of steam at 6500 rpm
but still good for breaking national speed limit !!!!!!

its not just the washers (gaskets) but the carb needles that restrict it as well as they are a good bit thicker
Smell ones mother. Yaas!
hey there, if you email me at feel_the_noise@hotmail.co.uk I can send you pictures I took of my restrictors being measured calipers, you should be able to get the measurements from them. I just took the pictures quickly before I put them in for reference.
The ones I use work great, was dyno tested and gives 30hp but still does not hang around!

You don't need certificates if you have a full licence, but i would think if you have a restricted licence for 2 years then you will need one as proof if you are stopped if you are on a bike that's normally over 33bhp? :rolleyes
I s'pose it would depend on the knowledge of the the police that stopped you, but the real problem would be with insurers i'd imagine?

The certificate is not recognized by law therefore you don't need it.
There must be some kind of law involved otherwise people simply wouldn't need to, or even bother, restricting their bikes? :rolleyes

Nope not at all. I didn't restricted mine. Then I crashed and decided I should.
You only really need to restrict it in the event of a claim and it's part of your license condition.
