WINTER PLANS FOR THE BIKE...
#1
Have you got anything planned for the darkest cold days of winter?  I plan to use them to spruce up parts of the bike ready for April. They're things that I'd like to do immediately, but it would mean converting riding time to workshop time.

First job will be to remove the header pipes and either polish them myself or get them polished by a local company. Grubby headers look awful but once they're back all shiny and new looking, I'll be better motivated to keep them that way.

Second job will be to remove the footrest hangers, polish them and have them re-lacquered. The lacquer is worn in places and it's just one of those things that really bugs me. I'll respray the footrest weights while I'm at it.

Third job will be to perform a deep-clean, paying attention to all those hard to reach bits which get neglected like the underside of the fork yokes, etc. Touch up any chipped paint, etc, etc.

Finally, new oil, filters, spark-plugs, lube everything that needs lubing and then spray (using compressor) a coat of ACF-50 everywhere.

Ride it  Big Grin  120 miles/day to work and back.  Not going to be fun in December/January  :crazy  Couple of hundred quid a month cheaper than the train though.

Errr, guys I do ride it  :rolleyes .  But what I'm saying (obviously not very clearly) is that I'm holding back on all the jobs that need doing until the very bleakest part of Winter (because I want to ride it as much as possible).

refitting the centre stand
remove all of the panels and give them a good clean / polish.
respray engine and downpipes

hard to reach places for cleaning.

only issue - ive a REALLY small garage (more a storeroom) which is enough room for my bike and allows me to move round it.

Down side is I also have my mates bike in there so that means his will be outside shivering whilst I do the necessaries.
