a foc-ing track day
#1
has this been done?
is there any interest?
would it be easier to negotiate peace in the middle east?
go on, shoot me down in flames.
The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money!

Chris (Ghostbiker) has mentioned it alot. Maybe drop him a pm. I think it's a great idea. If it happens, I'll happily be official photographer! Smile

Yep can count me in for a track day I think it would have to be one of the midland tracks Cadwell Mallory or  Donny  to be fair to all .
My personal choice would be Anglesey a bit of a journey for most but a beautiful place and free camping .I’m in Huddersfield so plenty of tracks within 100 miles or so for me .
Getting a bit late in the year now to get one organized though, bugger charging round a race track with me winter gloves on.

I do believe in years gone by that track days have been done and at the Anglesey track , there was some looney who a few may remember that had a blue boiler suit on lol , the less well known tracks do work out cheaper too

Tried to organise one years ago. Where we could of had a whole group or the whole track to ourselves.
Mallory was going to be the venue, if I remember correctly it would of cost £105 each(for the whole day, track) if 75 people signed up to it. That would of included all the marshalls, ambulances, insurance, etc etc.

Got about 10 people interested that was it.  Initial response was good, when the money for a deposit was asked for most of them had other stuff to do like mend the washing machine or fix the stairs.

Also Cadwell was mentioned so I spoke to them as well.  They would of let us camp and have a BBQ and a piss up after the trackday. The track day organiser was happy to arrange the BBQ and beer.  Again very good initial response but people didn't want to do it after all

They've been done before.  Anglesey was good - we didn't hire the whole track but all booked onto the same session IIRC.  Good track for a Fazer 6 as its not got huge long straights, it's all about the cornering.  Shame it rained and there was a crash Sad

Also with the Ninja club (an ex-foccer turned ninja rider organised) we did the track in south wales - also quite tight and twisty.  I was chuffed as I finally got the hang of getting my knee down.  There there was enough people to hire the whole circuit.  Great sunny day there, a good turnout too.

The club used to be more active though so getting confirmed numbers is key.  Pick an organised session and have a core group sign up, then others can join if they want and you don't have the worry of having a whole circuit booked with a deposit down :0

my 2pence worth is not to lay any money out for others! maybe get a day fixed at certain track with a couple of members paying for there self then get others to book there self i would maybe say early next spring as getting later in year now,the popular tracks are booked up quick and getting expensive so maybe a small club type track maybe good?

Yeah, Llandow rings a bell.  I remember riding with Nooj - him on his Aprilla and me on the Faz.  We were quite well matched, great fun.

Well if Cadwell is chosen I have a large garden that people can camp in, with an outside toilet. I'm only about 20 miles from the track Then go to the trackday then have a piss up and a BBQ afterwards.  Pubs within walking distance(1.5 miles) or beers in the garden.

Well it will cut the cost of maybe a B&B or a campsite, just makes it a bit more affordable, got nearly an acre so a few tents wont hurt. As long as people dont mind the yokels staring at them because their "not from round 'ere" lol.
