It pays to shop around

Well I've just booked my "speed awareness course" (see "speeding" 18th aug ) got done in north yorks so got the letter for that area. Picked York as it's only 13 miles up the road, only to find its 15 miles the other side of York.
So had a look at west yorkshire, one at Garforth about 17 miles from me but the best bit (if there is a best bit) N. Yorks charge £93 W. Yorks charge £75.

For £15 that'd be no contest for me.  Just keep your trap shut for a few hours and you'll be fine  :lol  Don't forget that if you'd wanted a clean licnece after the points expire you either need to spend another £20 to get them removed, or move house!

Had to attend one last year, got clocked at 8am Sunday morning going down to help with bike parking for the May Day run at Hastings on R1.
Was apparently doing 39mph in a 30 at Hurst Green, God knows where they were hiding, it was like a ghost town, nobody about apart from me (or so I thought).
That to me is not about road safety, more about money, or perhaps they were bored :rolleyes
I am hoping that bike isn't jinxed as my son is having it in November, but in the six years I've had it, I attracted two speeding tickets, the other in Scotland when I mistakenly thought motorway speed was 70mph, but on the Glasgow/Edinburgh interchange it is 50!, been knocked off it three times, nice little payouts and poor bike has had more plastic surgery than a film star.
Hoping Fazer will be less dramatic Smile
Age is a question of mind over matter, if you don't mind, it doesn't matter!
If I had a brain I would be dangerous

Its a nice little earner for the companies running the speed awareness courses isnt it? Obviously it pays to shop around in our market led economy. Perhaps they should be on a price comparison website? Do you have to fill in a customer satisfaction survey @ the end of it? From what Ive seen of driver behaviour near speed cameras its- spot it if youre looking. Slam on brakes without checking mirrors. Once past white road markings foot down job. I dont mind those radar driven signs that flash up your speed. Remember one in Notts  & @ end of village said Thankyou. Its easier to wield the stick than the carrot.( If youre the least bit interested just check out who are the directors of the speed awareness course companies! :z )
