fazer around town
#1
is it me or is the 600 seriously bad around town? it judders and jerks like the cush drive rubbers have been removed and you have to stay in 2nd gear permanently. my divvy 600 was smooth at 15-25mph. on the open road however, its a great bike especially in the sweepers. but i'm seriously looking around for a little 125 just for town use. sachs madass would be cool but they aint cheap.

Don't have a problem with mine. Is yours the FZS600 or the newer FZ6?

Oops, meant to say mine is a 98 FZS600, the original square box-eye. Never ridden a FZ6, so no idea on them...

Mine was similar until I balanced my carbs then simples 30mph 6th gear no judders.

its the gen 1. i dont know if my carbs need balancing but it pulls cleanly and goes like the clappers on the open road. its all original only 22000 miles and very well kept(before i had it!).

I've got the later FZ6, no problem in town, 30mph in 6th quite happily.

If its juddery (I'm assuming it happens at particular rpm?), as well as carb balancing, check your spark plugs and leads (your plugs will tell you a story if something is up), maybe worth checking pilot jets as well.

If ypu have a mk1 600 and it judders around town at low speeds then theres a problem. As a commuter its yard to heat I'd wager. Great from the lights, sits happily in high gears at urban speed and below. Carbs, plugs, cables, chain. Any one of them. Most likely Carbs balance. i thought the same on my first one, dead juddery through the city on the commute. carb balance awoke it ajd it turned into a dream.
You'd be mad to get a 125 for town with a fazer sitting there.
I'm thinking of getting a 125 for commuting but only cos I have a gixxer that ain't seen a stonechip of tarmac but should only be used as a weekend tool.

The fazer is ideal if you are only gonna have the one
Smell ones mother. Yaas!

Were do you live? Someone local may be able to help out with carb balance.
