Halfords Socket Set. Top Value..... IMO
#1
Bought one of these last October and it has been superb!
I reckon in 7 months it's paid for itself at least twice over in saved labour costs.
I thought it would only be a short-term offer but it looks like they're still doing them.
It's weird though because if you go in the store, it's not on display but other more expensive and less well-equipped sets are.
However..... if you reserve it through the website here and take your reservation number in with you, they produce one from out the back and Bob's your uncle.

The experience is bit like collecting your regular copy of Razzle in the 1980's....... apparently  :lol
A very strange set-up as I think they'd sell shed loads if they were on display.
So far I've only had to top up with a 32mm for the rear axle nut.
I know there will be other bits and pieces to add but for £60!!!?
The fact that you can, doesn't always mean you should.

I NEVER watch Emergency Bikers for the emergencies...

Got a halfords pro 1/2 inch drive socket set myself last year with "life time" guarantee last year and it's doing the job!

No complaints so far.

Years ago my brother had a Halfrauds 1/2 inch lifetime guarantee socket set, he broke one of the sockets so took it back to the shop, only to be told that was the lifetime of the socket the feccers would not replace it. :lol
If you worried about falling off your bike, you'd never get on.

Yeah Halfords won't replace any moving parts (ratchets)
and won't replace anything without a receipt...

Trouble is, half of it's imperial stuff that I haven't used since working of me grandads Viva!

I have a Halfords professional range socket set and it is excellent quality - recommended if you can get one of their frequent offers

Oh well, if it breaks I'll have to go back to relying on my Britool set......

those sets are definitely good value for money but as was said the lifetime guarantee is not on moving parts so they'll only replace a ratchet if the solid steel handle shears in half  :lol

I had a mate who could do everything with vice grips

Do they do a set with a torque wrench in it?

If anyone wants a decent torque wrench - never been used - let me know (especially if you can get to CB8 easily)

Lidl do a good torque wrench for about £20, don't know if it goes down low enough for the bike though.

Why would you want to use Halfords stuff when you have a Britool set?
