Congratulations to Tori for winning last month's competition. Her theme for May is "Old buildings".

Post your photographs below to enter. Competition rules include a maximum of 2 photographs per active member, photographs must have been taken by the entrant and relate to the theme and the competition will close toward the end of May. The prize is to choose next month's theme.

Having recently been to India for my 50th birthday trip I'm spoilt for choice. The obvious thing to do would be to enter a picture of the Taj Mahal, but everybody has seen that before, so I thought I'd go for something different.

Here's a view of Agra Fort, which is quite close to the Taj Mahal:

and here's a view of part of Fatehpur Sikri, an abandoned city, just down the road from Agra, that was built in the 16th century:

All the pictures from the Indian trip can be seen at http://www.torquemonsters.co.uk/indiaheader.htm if anyone is interested. I should point out, however, that I didn't take all the pictures on the Indian trip - my other half took a lot of them. The two I have submitted for the photo contest were definitely taken by me though.

This place has fascinated me for several years .. so I pulled over on one trip and took this shot.

A pair of very (very) old cattages, well tucked in at the side of a main Mountain Pass road (that was once just a Donkey trail) high up in the North of Spain.

You need to be a Right Hard Bugger to live up here.  Note the rocks, suitably placed to hold the roof down during the harsh winter weather  :\ .

I think the posh people living in the 'White' half must be called .... Jones  :lol

Second Shot from me if I may  Smile

So ... how old do we need to get  :\
Remote (almost secret) Spanish Castle complex .. it's a B&B without the B these days .. if you can find it.

It must have been a right pain in the buttress when someone, flogging double glazing, rang the front door bell here!

That's kind of you x To be honest, I'm madly printing and mounting for my LRPS so that's kind of taken up all my time this month. I'll definitely have something on next months theme, whatever that may be! (Unless it's naked women or something, then I'll probably not Lol)

VNA: I thought that was the Parochial House on Craggy Island. Smile
Tori: I'm sure that in the time you've spent on here explaining why you're too busy to post anything... you could have found an image and posted it. :pokefun

Anyway, here's one I took in March while the bike was undergoing an MOT.

OK, not especially old... but has quite a creepy atmosphere about it (like most abandoned industrial buildings). I guess it was built in the 60's when that part of the Blackwater Valley near Ash was being used for gravel extraction. The resulting holes in the ground are now fishing lakes, there is a chain of them stretching from south of Aldershot all the way to Finchamstead with the odd gap where towns got in the way.
