Ivanising
#1
:lol

My Gen 1 was Ivanised yesterday! So a big thank you to Ivan for manufacturing the kit and to Mike for fitting it......

....and I can't stop grinning Big Grin :rollin

As soon as I opened the throttle it was immediately obvious that the difference with the Full Monty is huge. The throttle responds as soon as you open it and the motor now just pulls all the way. Stonking!! I will have to watch out for the rozzers now tho as I feel the  :evil  on my shoulder.

So if you are in any doubt DO IT!!

Out of interest I have a Quill T3 end can fitted and a K&N air filter.

Perhaps we should nickname Mike "Tunes" after the well known lozenge that allows your engine to breathe more easily!!! :lol

Shiney side up is best!

Dunno about "Tunes", what he knows about our chosen bikes, would certainly fill many Haynes manuals! He really is unique and invaluable to us on this site! Thanks Mike.

Fitting of a tuning kit that is produced by ivans performance parts in the states. A forum member, Mike Greatorex fits them for a small 'ish fee (£250).

There should be some info on the forum somewhere. Basically new needles and jets in the carbs, K&N air filter, an airbox mod and a carb stub mod. I already had the Quill T3 end-can. Worth every penny

Cheers

I too have just had mine pepped up with a full monty. Excellent midrange and throttle response. And as for Mike, well what that guy doesn't know. Now looking forward to run across the Mendips to BSB at Thruxton next Sunday.

Hi Timbo and Boris. Smile

Delighted to hear that you're enjoying the benefits of our endeavours this weekend.  Thanks for the positive feedback and also many thanks to you both for providing great facilities for me to work in.

I hope you both get plenty of sunny miles under your wheels this summer.  Good luck with the weather for Thruxton, Boris ... got to be better than Brands Hatch today!

Cheers!

Further to the excellent result I have had following my Ivanisation (Just call me Vladimir) is the concensus of opinion that I should now tell my insurers and what to I tell them?

Ta :rolleyes

When it came to renewal time I informed my new insurers (Hastings) that I had a jet kit fitted, their system only knew about Dynojet kits but what they wanted to know was how much extra power the bike had, I took the 9.8HP figure from Ivan's dyno chart and they were happy with that and agreed to insure the bike with no raise in premium, though they did say that this was down to my age (45) and experience (29 years) so YMMV.

The effect of the carb kit is similar to having a power commander fitted to a FI bike so if they would be happy to insure a bike with a PC then they should be happy to insure an Ivanised bike.

Yup I'm with pie on this, my insurance knows it as a dynojet kit. I had no rise in insurance.
