can the rear shock spring be replaced or do i have to have a new shock fitted as i dont like the 2-3 inch drop when are lass jumps on even thou its on full preload

Providing the rear suspension isn't bottoming out when you hit bumps you might find some different dogbones (a.k.a a jack-up kit) would suit. Adjustable ones would let you set it up if you do a mix of solo/two-up riding.
Alternatively, suggest she loses some weight. :lol

Must admit I assumed they'd be as readily available as they are for the FZS600, a quick Google has shown that was a mistake. These guys might help though:

The FZ6 doesn't have dogbones. It uses a shock directly connected between the swingarm and frame, cantilever stylee.


You would need to get a new spring fitted. So to answer your question, yes it can be changed. It's a fairly easy DIY job but you need something to compress the spring - a motorcycle shock spring compressor is ideal although you can use ratchet straps.
