i dont know which shock this one is devil but this is from the fz6 forum in america on a fz6

well if that is the shock then no as the lower connection is not fork type

that looks like a 98-03 R1 shock, so probably 99-02 R6 is similar. The spring on that shock is soft for the R1, so will be way too soft on the FZ6 as it has no linkage.

From what the fzr site said they've cut the spring down and reworked the internals of the shock then only had to get a new bolt and a couple of spacers to fit:-D

cut the spring down? it's been powder coated too then as they're yellow. more likely it's been changed as the R1 spring is a 7.5 and you need about a 14 for the FZ6.
Seems a lot of money to me for a used R1 shock. Kais charge £275 to revalve and respring an R1 shock, add on the cost of one £50? - and you're getting into premium shock money.

the spring has been cut down and sprayed to match the bike :eek

Do you mean the original FZ6 spring has been cut down to fit the R1/R6 shock? That would make the spring stiffer and fit the better quality damper.
The downside would be that the damping range would probably not cope with the extra spring and so would need revalving.

That all sounds like an awful lot of specialist work... I think I will stick with the OE one :evil
