Take your time changing down and always get it finished before you come to a standstill

Dolau, did you understand all that or just took a lucky guess? :lol
Christ, the last time I dropped 3 gears in one go I locked up the rear end on an approach to a roundabout, left a 50 yard skid-mark behind me that _wasn't_ rubber !

Not sure about anyone else but I always make sure I let the clutch out slightly for every shift to make sure the gears mesh correctly ready for the next shift. I'm pretty sure thats how I was taught when I learnt during the summer and ive never had a problem unless I manage to fail and not kick the leaver up enough - makes a horrible grind when that happens but it pops back in pretty much immediately.
As fazerjake say's blip the throttle on the way down makes all the difference, and use the gears to adjust your speed utilising engine braking,
I can't think of a time when I would want to go down 6th to 1st in one go, saying that though last bike had a gear indicator on it ,I'm always forgetting what gear I'm in and trying to pull off in too high a gear...
