Can anyone recommend a decent insurance company at a reasonable price, my renewal is soon to be up on my 2011 fz1-n, ive been getting quotes from around £130 up to £220 fully comp, but with a massive excess.(I'm 39 with a clean licence!) Is there a Yamaha Owners club discount or something similar? :rolleyes
130 fully comp is not too bad as ins has rocketed in last year
"Dont confuse my personality with my attitude My personality is who I am. My attitude depends on who you are..."
fz6 £240+400 :eek for me rip off britain again, im 42 comming back to bikeing after 20 years away and they wont accept my 3 years no claims :'(
£130 seems fair to me if thats FC
I have been sent my renewal at £123.63 from motocycle direct (useing groupama)
thats with a realy good £50 excess gen 1 1000 FC 40 years old IAM's and 6 years NCB in a reasonable postcode and declairing all the mods inc exhaust ivans kit and shock luggage etc.
i can get it down to £101 with a £200 excess from another firm or get better benifits from another for £120 but £400 excess.
swings and roundabouts realy
Try the comparison sites but also check direct with some of the better offers.
£130 seems very fair im the wrong side of 50 with a clean license and no claims, mine £150-160 with e-bike.
Nobody is perfect, but being Scottish is a start
I used Motorcycle Direct and my policy is with Aviva. My premium was less than £80 (fully comp, protected NCD, £250 excess). I've got nine years' no claims, I'm in a middling postcode (BS22) and I was 49 when I took the policy out (I'm actually 50 today!). My policy doesn't include commuting as I'm self employed and work from home. It then cost about another £30 to add legal cover, but personally I'd never have a bike policy without it.
I never pay for legal cover its available free these days
Its just a ride
£160 TPFT for my FZ1 and FZ6. Excess of £250. With Carole Nash.
