Unfortunately, the Prime Minister elected in 1997, started the whole prosecution process going when the "Good Friday" agreement came about.
Who in their right mind releases known terrorists from prison with letters of pardon, then allows prosecutions to go ahead on the troops which were doing what they were ordered to do by the government.
It has had a marked affect on the recruitment of fresh troops - who wants to volunteer to defend innocent civilians to then be shot at and prosecuted.
And don't even get me started on the two sleaze bags, who, following a successful career in the I.R.A., went on to become MP's.
