hi UNFAZED,ive had this brown tint in the coolant for a while now, searching my own posts i flushed the system through with HOLTS RAD FLUSH back in july 2017 , it cleared most of it and the header tank is still nice and clean which was the reason for the flush , was a bit surprised myself at the colour, pictures taken without any cleaning .......time to confess.....i use the same anti freeze in the bike as i do in the car    :eek ......BLUECOL UNIVERSAL ANTI FREEZE.................

I would not think the clear Bluecol U is really suitable for the Fazer or any car with an aluminum engine and radiator.

Blucol red is probably the better of the two being  Ethylene Glycol based and suitable for high performance aluminium engines

The colouring issue may be due to the previous owner having the coolant changed and using the incorrect coolant type.

What is the inside of the large pipe going into the engine like?

hi UNFAZED.......thought as much with anti freeze  :o .....will choose carefully for the refill :thumbup ....re the pipe, do you mean the one that exits through the front of the block between the cooler and oil filter ?........not checked that yet but will do this evening....

Red, no the long one with the drain bolt that goes directly into the pump. 2 seals on it
The one on the block suffers badly from corrosion being directly in the salt spray line.
Mine had a lot of corrosion around where the seal sits last time I had it off

nice one Steve  :thumbup .......thou rear caliper is on my list aswell, when i can find one.......

made up another wooden block today and ordered most of the seals/gaskets,spent £40 but i still need O rings for the "water pump drain pipe" and the "large oil pipe" that i had to remove to get the pump out, cant find them without spending silly money so i might just buy an assorted O ring pack and hope the right size is in there, also need an oil filter which i`ll pick up at halfords on the way home tomorrow.....

Wheels out and tyres off this afternoon. Discs off tomorrow, hopefully with no dramas, bearings out, and off to the powder coaters.

Morris fuel stabiliser in the tank. ACF50 over the delicate bits. Wire brushed and repainted the centre stand.

Discs off today. Warmed up the bolts, one whack with the impact driver, and happy days. All the bolts came out ok. Cost me 15 quid for a new impact driver as the old one flew apart on the first whack. Just got to decide who to order the bearings from. Marksman are top of the list at the moment.

:lol :lol ...nothing exotic I'm afraid. Just gloss black, which hopefully will look just a bit sharper than the more satin standard finish. Did you get the text I sent regarding coolant choice Mr.Red.
