From the picture of the dirty piston most of the dirty haze cleaned up with a rag, i only lighty sanded it under the tap, yep kept that o ring.although i may source another one, it's all to do with what type of rubber it is, i found this out when my gasgas 250 enduro bike must have "nitrile"  o rings for the exhaust. There's rubber and rubber Smile
But thanks if it dies in a year then i'll buy a blue spot

That's a handy kit. Do you think the quality is as good as Yamaha seals?

I saw that kit, my fazer has only 1 central caliper o ring and the bleed nipples are good to go as are the rubber boots so i'll take a chance on the one i bought, it may be good, it may be bad lets see.the bike was £900 so i'm not gonna throw a lot of money at it, if it leaks then i'll take another path
I might be back soon advising not to buy brand x seals cos there shit .... time will tellThanks for you input though it's always good to see something from the otherside of the fence

personally speaking having owned a few japanese bikes and cars quality is better than german, i think that the O.E. yam ones will be the best but at this time £26 for a set of 4 bits of rubber, is well ludicrous.I may regret buying non genuine but the kids need a new trampoline  :rolleyes

Took the downpipes to be sandblasted, it's not a shock to see these as the bike is 18 years old but with a bit of welding work and some paint they should be good for a few more years

I’m in the market for some second hand stainless. Do you know anywhere good to source them? Fleabay only seems to have new ones.

Edit: there’s actually some on the for sale section right now!

All what trouble?? A €3 sandblast and 13€ of paint
Why would i want to spend  a wad of cash when the original are good to go.

16€ vs £150 + postage to lithuania... go figure.

I see you were having some problems with non OEM brake piston seals as well, how’d you get on with them in the end? Is this the front or rear brake seals?

For the rear I had to splash out on new OEM ones to finish the job. I’m gonna do the fronts this weekend and I’m hoping I can re-use the old ones if they’re not too far gone.

just waiting for my custom "el diablo" graphics  for the tank and some yamaha ones for the bellypan
I might have to ditch the "Bike It Raptor 2" headlight/fairing  which i had painted in satin matt silver, it didnt pass the TA (MOT) so either i try bribe the the tester Smile which is possible here in lithuania for a bottle of anything .....or junk the whole thing and get a honda  hornet headlight plus fairing.... i know i know but i need to ride it NOW!!
