my first big un was a cb900. it was utter shite. I had to wait years afore I got to the good stuff lol. First genuinely pukka bike was a zx9rb1in the nineties. then the busas. this was one of my favourites though. helluva bike. the later 1440 is even better

Just had to print this off for the Mrs - said she wanted it for her wank bank.............think that's what she said  :lol

I think the 750 was prolly a better bike in truth. 900s burnt oil from new, apparently the 750 didn't. all I can say is mine put me off Hondas for years

I'm not really a Honda fan myself in all honesty, never have been. They always seemed to pull their punches a bit, a bit too 'polished' if you know what I mean. I still hear that about them now, with much more recent models. There've been a few I would have liked to try though.

Have to say that CB13 in silver is stunning. Would lose the tank decals though.
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

Oh, just remembered, saw this one recently in Keswick:

Big bore kit, hot cams (for midrange, so still starts and runs ok), 33mm carbs etc, ZX7R s/arm adapted for twin shocks. Had a long chat with the owner, possibly left some drool on it  :lol

I drooled over the first VF 750 F when it appeared in the magazines but couldn't afford one when they came out.

In '92 I was a bit better off and convinced my wife that one would suit her - and she agreed. She still loves that bike today.

But, right now, it's up on my bench in the garage for a proper re-furnish - as it's not been used for 15 years, since she started riding the Fazer 1000  :lol .

It'll be mint/pristine (and slightly updated/modded) by next spring  Smile

Yeah Steve, 2nd bike to go on the bench for a re-furb.

Everyone who come to my garage is amazed at how strong and sturdy the bench is compared to the pressed mild steel units that are generally popular. What I love are the two holes in the bench-top in the middle - I just put a bin under them and brush all of the crap that comes off the bike, down through the hole into the bin. Makes keeping the working area clean, super-easy.
Very glad you "allowed" me to buy it from you  :lol :lol

Millietant, The 2 holes are either side of a cross member they were there to chain the bike down to stop 2 legged feral rats removing my bike when we were away from home, and the dog wasn't there to object.

The red CB13 looks lush, the silver one not so.

What a glorious noise that CBX makes on the track!

I never really liked the CBX, by the time i passed my text in '86 there were other, better bikes available. We used to go baiting bikes like the, CBX, Z1000, CB750/900 etc on our LC's. Until we grew up a bit and moved onto GSX R750s, then it wasnt really sport anymore.

Here's me on my brand new 350 YPVS. First new 'big' bike after a second hand LC.

Note the thoroughly unsuitable footwear and period jeans our model is wearing and the most fashionable 'Mullet' poking from the rear of the FM Galactica Wink
Wish I still had the bike. Don't want to see the Mullet ever again tho :lol

There was a CBX at this years Spa Classic. Seemed loud enough to make your ears bleed.
